What is Dermarolling?
Dermarolling is a procedure that creates micro pathways to help product penetration and collagen synthesis using a derma roller. It is very similar to Microneedling.
Who can have it done?
Dermarolling is suitable for all skin types, but not for those suffering from eczema, psoriasis, warts, or cystic acne.
How long till I see results?
Results are seen in 6 weeks and improve with time when done regularly.
What should I expect after the treatment?
You should expect some bruising, pinpoint bleeding, infection, peeling, and flaking of skin. The skin takes 120 days to fully renew itself.
What should I do before the treatment?
If you are on retinol, kindly stop 4-5 days before the procedure.
What aftercare is advised?
Avoid having physical exfoliants, acids and retinol as the skin can be very sensitive. It's best to wash face, apply serums and moisturizers, along with sunscreen.
Is it painful?
A local anesthetic is applied, however, the procedure is very well tolerated without it also. You can feel the pricking of the skin and a warm sensation.
